actually, i like this script, and yes, i already try xchat wdk which is come with mpcinfo build, but it i just don’t like it, especially “in media player classic” title. it’s really annoying.

Yes, fortunately there is an alternative that at least works. mpc plugin is included in xchat-wdk.

I recompiled the sources using the most recent Windows Platform SDK, and it no longer works (the MPC process is not found). This is either due to changes to the Platform SDK, to MPC-HC, or both. I really have no idea about COM in general, so fixing this is unlikely. I suggest looking for alternatives.

after i switched to win7 x64 and mpchc x64 script stopped working , i hope when you’ll update script it’ll start working

jay: I wrote this plugin back in winter 2006. A while later, my host decided to lose a few of its harddisks without any chance of recovery, which left me with some essential files missing. One of these files, unfortunately, was this plugin and accompanying C++ source files. Since I had switched local installations a few times since, I thought these files lost for good. Now, I just realized that the Internet Wayback Machine has a few backup copies, so you could get the original archive from here: http://web.archive.org/web/20080118041516/http://sector-5.net/archives/mpcinfo-x-chat-plugin-take-2/.

I’ll see if I can just compile this for Python 2.6/2.7 with newer Platform SDK libraries, which may or may not work.

btw, are you an author of the original code, or is someone else? it just seem little strange that you couldnt/cannot rewrite it either way good luck.. looks like more people would appreciate it

I forgot to mention about those Python requirements, so thanks for pointing that out.

Someone forked Comix on Sourceforge to Mcomix, but commit activity ceased after a few days. If someone has to do it (the original developer might as well never turn up again), at least don't half-ass it.
